PAS100 and PAS110 are standards developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) for the production of quality compost and digestate.

PAS100 specifies requirements for the production and quality control of compost, including guidelines for the selection of feedstocks, the management of the composting process, and the testing and evaluation of finished compost. PAS110 sets a standard for the quality of digestate to ensure it is safe and reliable for use. The specification includes guidelines for processing food waste and other materials and is a key component of the Biofertiliser Certification Scheme.

The aim of the scheme is to ensure that compost and digestate is produced in a way that is safe for the environment and for the crops grown using the organic materials.

PAS100 is monitored by Renewable Energy Assurance Limited (REAL) and Eurofins Agro Testing UK is a REAL approved laboratory for compost testing as well as being certified for PAS110 testing under the Biofertiliser Certification Scheme.
