How to use Conservation Index

Conservation Index takes 8 parameters from your silage analysis to produce a single value that you can use to measure quality of conservation, compare to other silages and measure improvement over time.

• Conservation Index runs from 0 to 100
• Better conserved silage has a higher index number 
• Target value is Index 80 or above
• Below Index 80, take steps to improve conservation through better silage making
