Eurofins at the 17th ISSPA

24 March 2023

The 17th International Symposium on Soil and Plant Analysis is a global symposium for scientists, laboratories, government agencies, professionals and students to discuss scientific and technological advances in soil and plant analysis. This year will be about analytics for a sustainable agriculture under climatic change. Eurofins is Gold sponsor.

Arjan Reijneveld presents two broad-spectrum soil analysis methods, i.e. NIRS and multi nutrient extractant 0.01 M CaCl2, to assess the soil characteristics that define soil health. These innovative analytical techniques are fast and more cost-effective than the traditional methods. Recent calibrations of NIRS in European countries, China, New Zealand and Vietnam show high accuracy.

Arjan will also show some recent innovations like the pyrolysis method. Pyrolysis allows to characterize organic matter at the molecular level and first calibrations show promising results. Furthermore, he will show how the soil puzzle pieces are transformed to tools for the agro-food industry.
