Martin Vervoorn appointed as new Business Unit Manager Horticulture
7 January 2026 - Horticulture
As of January 1, 2026, Martin Vervoorn will take over the role of Business Unit Manager Horti from Sjors Beijer, who has found a new challenge outside the organisation. Since January 1, 2023, Sjors has held various positions within Eurofins Agro. We sincerely thank Sjors for his dedicated efforts over the past years and wish him every success in his new role.
Martin has a long track record at Eurofins Agro and has held various positions over the years. Over the past year, he started as Commercial Director for the Business Unit Agro, and this will now be expanded to include horticulture. With Martin joining the Horti team, a wealth of experience and decisiveness is added. This makes him ideally suited to further optimise our services for Horti clients together with the passionate team. Martin explains:
“The greenhouse horticulture sector continues to evolve. Topics such as labor, energy, water quality, and plant resilience remain relevant, while sustainability is becoming increasingly important. Think of renewable raw materials in potting soils, alternatives to plastic, and a reduced availability of crop protection products. This stimulates innovation and leads to new products and services – also in 2026. For Eurofins Agro, a vital, healthy, and resilient cultivation system remains the foundation. This means: the right nutrition at the right time and insight into the microorganisms present. With new technologies, we develop services that help prevent problems. Focused monitoring and providing growers and their advisors with practical tools to anticipate quickly are our key priorities for 2026.
Internationally, we see that the knowledge and expertise within Eurofins Agro complement each other. For example, in the field of soil health: where we increasingly have techniques available in open field cultivation to analyze soil life in all its facets, new opportunities are also emerging for (greenhouse) horticulture. A healthy mat or (potting) soil forms the basis for a successful, problem-free crop.
Please feel free to contact us for our extensive range of analyses for various cultivation issues. Many of our analyses are completed within just one working day, so you can act quickly and optimise your crop management!”
